So, there were actually 5 holes and not 3...but I had a lot of fun!

There were two par 4s, three par 3s. Here's my breakdown -

#1 (par 4) - I shot a 12. Oops.
#2 (par 3) - I shot a 4...Yes, a 4! Whoop!
#3 (par 3) - I shot a 6...not too bad.
#4 (par 3) - I shot a 9...not so good.
#5 (par 4) - I shot a 7...not too bad, right?

Will and I had a little pep talk session last night about it, and decided that if I shot a 50 or under I'd be happy - but that's when we thought it was only 3 holes! Ha! So, I shot a 38 on 5 holes on my very first day (outside of the range). And I had a really great time with a really nice lady from work. I'm declaring the day a success.
Nice choice, sir, nice choice.

In other news, I'm off to play my first 3 holes of real golf (rather than just driving range practice). We'll see how that goes.

My Incredibly Green Thumb

I left my garden in the hands of my lawn service (aka The Lawn Squad, my teenage/preteen neighbor boys). They were to water the garden each week when they came to do the yard, and take any veggies as they ripened. Um, yeah. They didn't take any. The zucchini and cherry tomato plants completely took over, killing off the eggplant, the herbs, and the cucumbers. Holy cow.

Before --
After (you can barely see the planter box)--

As I started poking around in that mess, I discovered what I considered to be one of the world's largest zucchinis --
For a little perspective, here it is next to a normal-sized, ripe zucchini from the same plant --

And then I found this monster lurking in there, but I couldn't get it out until I cut back most of the plant --
More perspective -
Is it because I bought organic??? Maybe it's the mushroom compost soil we bought???

Anyway, I'm afraid to cut into these huge veggies for fear of some alien being crawling out and devouring me for destroying its pod/home.

Are they even edible?

Home. Wow, it's been a while. Will's truck started (miraculous), our house is in tact, and we have new neighbors (renters) on one side - Praise God! No more cul-de-sac filled with 65 cars! However, my vegetable garden is seriously out of control. I'll take a picture and post it soon. I have no idea how I'm going to tackle it...it's like a jungle. Yikes.

Time to unpack and get to bed so that I can go into work tomorrow and see what has piled up there.

This has been such a great summer...I'm sad that it's come to an end, but it does mean that I will have my husband back in two short months!

I'm busy...having fun and enjoying vacation.

If you need me, I'll be by the pool.
